Germany’s Merz proposes EU-level stockpiles of critical raw materials
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called for European-level stockpiles of critical raw materials to reduce dependence on countries that dominate their extraction and processing. Speaking at an economic conference in Berlin, he said the state should also help diversify supply sources and strengthen recycling and the circular economy.
