Mexico unexpectedly cuts key interest rate to 6.25% in split vote
Mexico’s central bank lowered its key interest rate by a quarter percentage point to 6.25%, its lowest since early 2022. Three board members supported the cut and two favored holding rates unchanged. Only six of 26 economists surveyed by Bloomberg had forecast the move, which resumed easing after borrowing costs had been unchanged since May.
