Goldman Sachs expects Brazil's interest rate to stay at 13.75% until at least Q2 2028
Goldman Sachs forecast that Brazil's benchmark interest rate would remain at 13.75% until at least the second quarter of 2028, following the central bank's decision to pause rate cuts. Analysts at XP and Itau expect rates to remain unchanged throughout 2027. Goldman Sachs economist Alberto Ramos said uncertainty over growth and fiscal policy made the scope for eventual easing difficult to assess.
