Harmeet Dhillon resigns as head of Justice Department's Civil Rights Division
Harmeet Dhillon resigned as head of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, Attorney General Todd Blanche said Thursday. In a resignation letter seen by CBS News, Dhillon said she had told White House chief of staff Susie Wiles in early October that she planned to leave after the midterm elections. However, two sources familiar with the matter told CBS News that President Trump demanded her firing after watching her Oct. 18 appearance on "60 Minutes" discussing election integrity efforts.
